The mansion house "La Casa Grande" was built in 1729 by Francisco Javier Nuñez de Prado López Maldonado on the inland cliff, the "Peña de Arcos". Nearly three centuries later the mansion still retains the rustic splendour of noble residences in the Cádiz Sierra. This is an ideal place to enjoy peace and tranquility and fantastic panoramas of the valley of the river Guadalete and the sandstone towers of the two churches, "Santa María" and "San Pedro". A no less irresistible charm breaths within its walls. The present owners have strived to bring together the power of both interior and surroundings in the restoration and set up of the lodgings. Original terracotta floors, ancient wooden beams, stone columns and whitewashed walls speak of centuries of magnificent simplicity. Guests have at their disposal a large terrace, as well as the patio and the library of the house. |

In the family atmosphere of La Casa Grande, breakfast, tapas and wines from the land are served. The 7 rooms and theirs bathroom are unique, and the latter is done in Andalusí tiles. All the lodgings have air conditioning, radio, television and phone. Ceramic tiles specially designed for each guest room, hand-woven bedspreads and carpets and chosen pieces of antique and design furniture are among the many delicate details now framed by the old walls and the broad skies. In the suites, there are sofas that can be turned into additional and comfortable double beds. One of the suites has also a fireplace. |
