Situated in Arcos de la Frontera, a historical town and the capital of the "Pueblos Blancos" (White Villages), near the nature reserve of Grazalema, declared reserve of the biosphere by the UNESCO, Hacienda El Santiscal is the perfect setting for a very private business conference or just a romantic vacation for two. The building has been tastefully converted into an elegant but simple hotel. It consists of a classical Andalusian cortijo with a whitewashed façade, a grand portal and a central courtyard. The facilities include a dinning room (it offers a wide selection of fine Andalusian dishes), a private glass gazebo, a reading room with fireplace, a garden and a swimming pool, terraces, direct access to the lake, an Andalusian central patio, a bar, a free car park. The whole is surrounded by a large estate and sunflowers, wheat and olive trees fields. |

The hotel has 7 Double rooms, 3 Junior Suites and 2 Suites (with lounge and fireplace), all fitted out with private air conditioning, fully-equipped bathrooms with hairdryer and having magnificent views on the mountains of El Santiscal or the Lake of Arcos. Being a protected historical building (dating from the XVth century), all the rooms are different, including some with wooden coffered ceilings, Arab brick or terracotta floors, typical Spanish furniture, etc. But all are decorated to be welcoming and according to the style of the house, giving it simplicity, elegance and character. There are many activities open to guests organised by the hotel: horse riding, golf, off-road driving, mountain biking, canoeing, ballooning, hang gliding, visits to wine cellars & bull farms...or just exploring the unique character of southern Spain. |
