In 1727 the Duque of Medinaceli authorized the Capuchin sisters to built this barroque convent. Converted only a decade ago into a romantic and comfortable hotel, where modernity and nostalgia exist side by side, 2000 celebrates 273 years of its existence. In its cloister the traveller will find a world of evocations and peacefulness. The 18th century Monastery was inaugurated as a hotel in 1989, situated in the centre of the town of el Puerto de Santa Maria, less than 10 km from Jerez in the main road. It seems impossible, but this "charming small hotel" has 150 rooms, all with the modern facilities of a grand hotel :Full-equipped bathroom, individually controlled air conditioning, T.V. satellite, mini-bar, safe deposit box. |
