This 17th century building, that in its day was the house of the Abbot of the Abbey of St. Miguel of Ampudia is situated in the quiet, historic town of Ampudia. La Posada de la Casa del Abad is listed in the Catalogue of "Bienes Protegidos" of the village of Ampudia. Even though there have been various modifications to the building throughout its time, the materials used in its construction are typical of the region, stone in the socles and the gangway at the entrance, big adobe walls, wooden platforms and beams. The wrought iron balconies as well as a lot of the interior doors are the originals. Its original spirit was maintained while integrating the primitive atmosphere with the most advanced technology required in a top quality hotel. Throughout the entire house, and still in perfect condition, is the extensive collection of furniture, paintings and other antiques which have accumulated over the years, and have been preserved with the passing of time by a true and austere Castilian family. |

Built in the wine cellar and wine presses of the old residence of the Abbot of the Colegiata of San Miguel de Ampudia, the hotel offers a magnificent restaurant: El Arambol. Its spectacular decoration, the mixture of design elements of a building of the XVII century, and cosy atmosphere, together with excellent service makes it an ideal place to enjoy some exquisite cuisine, created by its Team Chef. There are 13 double rooms, 11 junior suites, one with jacuzzi and 3 - duplex, plus 1 special Abbot's suite.Every room has different decoration and beautilful bathrooms. In each room, there is a digital telephonic network, one of these analoged for possible connection to modem or Internet . Also, there are 3 community rooms, one with an open fire, a bar, a small chapel, a heated swimming pool, a gymnasium, modern SPA which is situated in an former carpenter´s workshop of the old hause with the wooden ceiling and large alabaster windows, a covered garage, tennis and paddle courts and bycicles. The guests of "The Posada de La Casa del Abad de Ampudia" can, subject to prior reservation, gain acces to the shooting and horse riding activities. |
