In the village of Escalante in a country state full of the most varied kinds of trees of Cantabria, there is an old country house from the 17th century, next to a beautiful 12th century chapel called San Roman de Escalante. Escalante is located in the eastern part of Cantabria, close to the coast. The customer can admire and get the worths of art and antiquities that decorate its lounges and rooms, apart from admiring one of the most beautiful sites of the region. Beginning with the ancestral home emblazoned with the family coat of arms of the Santernices-Venero family, careful refurbishment led to the opening of the restaurant in the former stables of the mansion. Typical meals are offered which are deserving of the highest recognition in the gastronomy. |

The traveller can take refuge in any of the 16 spacious, comfortable rooms each decorated individually based on the art collection of the village. They combine the moderate nothern style with the mediterranean light. All this shows the great care with which it has been decorated. The paintings inside it and sculptures in its garden of very well-known artists surround the customers with an atmosphere of quietness and relax. |
