Dating from the 17th century, the Casa de los Azulejos was renovated in 1934, giving the house a distinctly Sevillian flavour.
The central courtyard, decorated with tiles from the famous Mensaque Tile Factory in Seville and the wrought iron columns and the marble floor which were added at that time have all been left intact. Especially impressive are the large handcarved antique French windows and the majestic and elegant balustrade of the main staircase leading to a domed gallery on the second floor.
The Azulejos Fusion-Restaurant presents the combination of two culinary cultures, that of Andalusia and that of Latin America.
The Guadalupana Cantina opened its doors in December 2002. The old vaulted underground rooms were transformed to make it independent, although still belonging to the house. The Cantina is entered from the central courtyard by a small staircase. Both the atmosphere and the menu of the Guadalupana Cantina reflect the ambience of Mexico. |
