The hotel rural El Patio occupies the ground floor of the old residential home of the de Ponde family dating from 1565, situated in the middle of a banana plantation of approximately 60 hectares, which has been won from the elements on a tongue of an old lava flow extending into the sea on the north western coast of Tenerife. The house is embedded in extensive gardens making this a place of unique and exclusive charm, with a wealth of corners to sit, relax and enjoy the scenery. Its central courtyard, "El Patio", contains numerous palm trees, an ancient dragon tree of over 500 years of age and a spreading Flamboyant and a host of other plants. |

The accommodation comprises of 26 rooms all with a fully equiped bathroom, safe, terrace and heating. All are decorated lovingly in a typical, rustical style. 8 of those rooms, called type B, are in a separate building, about 500 metres distant from the reception. Its restaurant proposes a full and healthy breakfast and menues of typical Canarian dishes. Other facilities: bar, Internet corner, meeting room, heated swimming pool, tennis court, croquet lawn, golf training area, small beach, sauna, jacuzzi & fitness area. Arrangements for guided tours of the private rooms and the chapel can be made. |
