The great house of the Marquesses of "La Quinta Roja", nowadays the hotel of the same name, is one of the finest examples of the architecture of the island´s Baroque period. The original building dates back to the 16th century to coincide with the royal grant by King Charles II of the title of Marquess of the "Quinta Roja". Located on the main road in the north of Tenerife, about 60 km from the capital, the town is called Garachico, a village with a noble aspect, with big old houses and its coat of arms tells us about it´s important past. |
