The Casona Torre de Quijas, which lies in the centre of the region, is an excellent location from which to discover Cantabria. It is very close to Santillana del Mar (Altamira Caves), Comillas, the Saja Nature Reserve, and the beaches at Cobreces and San Vicente de la Barquera, and we are only 20 minutes away from Santander.
Some of the delightful rooms to be found in this 1500m² "indiano casona", built in 1872, are a sitting room with fireplace, a small library stocked with books about Cantabria, a glass-roofed patio and meeting rooms, all located on the ground floor.
On the first floor you can see furniture made from mahogany and from the modernist period and on the second floor lofted rooms with their original wooden beams creating a unique ambiance.
Next to the glass-roofed patio is the Annex or "little house" which holds 5 more rooms.
A fresh, green garden planted with indigenous trees surrounds the Casona making it the perfect place to relax all year round. |
